    The ICU is seeking a Clinical Staff Leader for full time day shift.  The Clinical Staff Leader is a role developed to work in coordination with nursing leadership in assigned unit(s) to ensure efficient daily operations in the ICU while continuing to maintain patient care responsibilities.

     

    The CSL is the first line support for staff, physicians and other related providers on service-specific clinical issues.  The CSL requires clinical and interpersonal skills and collaborates with leadership on clinical and non-clinical issues. In addition, this position will assist the Director of the ICU with strategic planning and development, personnel management, and fiscal planning.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include maintaining appropriate staffing levels in the ICU, coordination of staff education and development, assuring high quality patient care, assisting with employee reviews, ensuring employee accountability, and participation in quality improvement strategies and monitoring. The CSL is responsible for supervising, directing, coaching and mentoring their assigned group of staff.

     

    Qualifications

    Requires knowledge of Federal, State and required regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations.  Cognitive and technical knowledge and ability to progressively manage clinical care delivery. The ability to retrieve, communicate and present data and information both verbally and in writing required as in the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken and written work.  Must be flexible with work scheduling.  Involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits.

     

    - Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree preferred

    - Texas RN license

    - 3-5 years of clinical experience

    - BLS, ACLS, PALS required

    - CCRN preferred
