  • Overview

    The HR/Payroll Coordinator is responsible for providing HR support to caregivers, processing data into HRIS system, processing payroll and maintaining recruitment system.  The position reports to the Sr. Director of People and Culture, working closely with Human Resources, Employee Health Services, and Education.




    Human Resources Adminstrative Support

    • Ensure handoffs, communication and interactions are customer focused, seamless and delivered with high quality
    • Assist in the administration of annual benefits and performance evaluations
    • Assist employees with routine inquiries concerning payroll, benefits, personnel policies, employment openings
    • Assist with front desk and main line coverage
    • Serve as back up to prepare and maintain all employee personnel and payroll files assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality
    • Entry of all status changes, including compensation, personal information, etc.


    HRIS and Payroll Processing


    • Maintain a high level of payroll compliance knowledge (federal, state and/or local)
    • Payroll Processing:
      • Review employee timecards in Kronos for accuracy
      • Transmit timecards bi-weekly to payroll for processing
      • Create payroll and management reports on scheduled and ad hoc basis
      • Reports and escalates concerns to Chief Financial Officer as appropriate
    • Provide support for leadership regarding payroll questions and requests
    • Assist leadership in scheduling/coordinating continuing education for HR and Payroll as deemed necessary
    • Create payroll and management reports on scheduled and ad hoc basis
    • Investigate payroll issues, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
    • Maintain an effective recordkeeping system and performs audits as scheduled
    • Assist in the development of procedures to increase operational effectiveness of payroll administration; may assist in the testing of system upgrades/updates


    Recruitment - Requisition and Candidate Management


    • Review resumes of applicants and screen candidates against minimum qualifications
    • Review application information to ensure accuracy and compliance with hiring guidelines and regulations
    • Gather all required documentation
    • Schedule interviews and facilitate the job offer process
    • Escalation of requisition as appropriate
    • Communicate effectively with hiring managers regarding recruitment process
    • Negotiate salary offers
    • Actively participate on recruitment projects and job fairs; promote purpose and communicate project outcomes with positive and energetic personality
    • Invest time and investigate recruitment best practices to incorporate


    • High School Diploma or equivalent, Degree preferred
    • One year experience in HR and/or Payroll, Healthcare experience strongly preferred
    • Prefer American Payroll Association FPC or CPP or SHRM/HRCI Certification
    • Previous experience within HR and Payroll functions
    • Knowledge of Kronos Timekeeping and ExponentHR preferred
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with employees
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Excellent organization and prioritizing skills, ability to work in fast paced environment
    • Strong research and investigative skills required
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
    • Ability to be an independent worker with a team player attitude.
    • Ability to multi task and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
