We are currently searching for a Manager of Health Information Management.  The HIM Manager has direct oversight of all operations for the HIM department, including Assembly, Analysis, Suspension Process, Transcription follow-up, budget responsibility, cancer and birth registry, scanning and document retention for all medical records.  It is the responsibility of the HIM Manager to ensure all compliance and regulatory activities are being monitored on a daily basis and appropriate communication proceeds.



  • Participates in the selection, design, implementation, ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of documentation application systems used in the collection, storage and dissemination of patient data

  • Supports users of clinical data systems, including electronic health record and its components, dictation, transcription, and imaging systems

  • Serves as liaison between HIM Department and its customers 

  • Performs human resource management activities for direct and indirect reports for areas of responsibility

  • Serves as Director of HIM in absence of Department Director

  • Promotes completion of daily activities and efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services 




  • Bachelors Degree in Healthcare required
  • RHIA or RHIT certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire (Courses must already be completed)
  • Certified Coding Specialist preferred
  • Minimum 2-5 years HIM experience in a hospital setting with demonstrated competency
  • Must be computer literate,  have knowledge of medical terminology and be detail oriented, with well organized work habits
  • Good customer service, verbal and written skills
  • Able to interact positively with the public and staff in a professional manner
