Our Surgical Services Department is seeking a Registered Nurse, Manager for our Pre-Admit Testing, Day Surgery, Specials/GI Lab & PACU units.  

The Nurse Manager will provide supervision of the day to day operations of the Pre-Admit Testing, Day Surgery, Specials/GI Lab, PACU Departments. Administers and directs patient care and related activities specific to the Operating Room. Utilizes professional judgment, knowledge and leadership to develope staff through education and utilization of quality improvement to improve the system. Responsible for assisting with decision making, program planning, and implementation of patient care delivery systems which promotes safety and well being of all patients within the system. Demonstrates sound financial knowledge and management. Facilities the organization and management to achieve optimal patient appropriate resource utilization. Builds and maintains strategic relationships. Builds and maintains high performing care delivery teams. Manages conflict and competing imperatives. Builds customer loyalty among physicians, employees and community. Possesses requisite level of technical and professional knowledge in Nursing including exceptional leadership skills.

  • Must be able to arrive on the Unit M-F at 7:00am (or designate to CSL) to open Department, set schedule and make last minute staffing changes; 

Qualifications

Requires knowledge of Federal and State regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations.  Cognitive and technical knowledge and ability to progressively manage care delivery across the continuum of care.  The ability to retrieve, communicate and present data and information both verbally and in writing required; as is the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken and written work.  Must be flexible with work scheduling.  Involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits.

  • Associates Degree in Nursing, Bachelors in Nursing preferred
  • Current Texas RN license
  • Current AHA CPR/BLS required
  • Current AHA ACLS required
  • 3-5 years experience in acute care is required
