Overview

Currently seeking a Unit Secretary/Admitting Representative with 1-3 years of experience to work in our North Emergency Department in Rockwall, Texas, and who will provide service excellence and support the hospital's mission, vision and values through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times.

Responsibilities

The Unit Secretary/Admitting Representative will ensure the quality of patient registrations to the hospital by obtaining thorough and accurate information in a timely and efficient manner. This position also requires the Access Services Representative to interact with ancillary departments and staff to ensure quality care for all patients. The Access Services Representative also serves as a patient resource in matters concerning financial/payment arrangements and will discuss financial matters for up-front collections or payment arrangements if necessary. Responsible for patient care delivery which promotes safety and well being of all patients within the system. Facilitates optimal patient appropriate resource utilization.  Builds and maintains strategic relationships.  Participates and contributes to high performing care delivery teams.  Manages conflict and competing imperatives.  Builds customer loyalty among physicians, employees and community.  Possesses requisite level of technical and professional knowledge.

Qualifications

Requires knowledge of Federal and State regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations.  Cognitive and technical knowledge and ability to asssit RN with progressively managing care delivery across the continuum of care.  The ability to retrieve, communicate and present data and information both verbally and in writing required as in the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken and written word.  Must be flexible with work scheduling.  Involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits.

-  High School or GED required

-  Associates or Bachelors degree preferred

-  Current BLS/CPR certification is preferred

-  1-3 years of experience is required
